Volunteer Requirements
Please Note
Per guidelines from the Archdiocese of Detroit, all volunteers who assist at church events 3 or more times a year are required to have a background check completed (every 2 years), sign a code of conduct, and participate in an online or in-person training through Virtus (including re-certification through an online module every 3 years). For more information and Archbishop Weisenburger’s decree visit protect.aod.org.
Thank you to all who have already completed these requirements.
It is always a good idea to have more trained eyes looking out for abuse. With your help we can keep our church and community a safe place for children and vulnerable adults.
Paper forms are found in the classroom hallway information center. Or preferably, when you make a Virtus account, you will be prompted for background check information/authorization and to sign the code of conduct electronically.
If you would like to register for training, please visit virtusonline.org.
